Most recently, he had re-signed with Nike for a 10 year deal until 2024 that is reported to net him as much as US $300 million, with an additional US $50 million in retirement benefits.

Now, with the help of TV producer Jamie Patricof in cooperation with HBO, he will star in his own HBO reality special called: "The Offseason: Kevin Durant."

The program is an unscripted first-person account of Durant's time after his previous season ended last May 31. It spans the time until he reports to training camp for the upcoming season in late September.

Cameras and microphones were connected to the 26 year old superstar throughout the summer. It captures his transition from a hectic NBA season, to an equally demanding off-season.

It presents what happens to one of the best NBA superstars after the final buzzer of the season.

It chronicles Durant's move to Los Angeles, stepping away from the recent FIBA championship and Team USA, working with his brands and sponsors, and his preparations with the OKC for the upcoming season.

Durant, Patricof, and Rich Kleiman - Durant's agent in Roc Nation - created the concept for the series. It is set to be directed by Brendan and Emmett Malloy, two directors who are adept at making documentaries.

Ken Hershman, President of HBO Sports said that Durant has a magnetic personality that enables fans to connect with him far beyond the hardwood. He feels that it will be a very interesting and revealing program.
