iPad Air 2 leaks

Apple is set to release its iPad Air update in  2014 and the refreshed version of the 9.7-inch 2013 model is said to sport the A8 system and Touch ID feature. The remaining question is whether it will be launched with a new iPad Mini this month or not. However, Apple analysts believe the company will focus on the iPad Air this year and the rumored 2015 iPad Pro instead of updating the iPad Mini in the near future.

The iPad Air 2 is said to feature a fully laminated 9.7-inch display made by GIS, TPK, LG and Samsung. It is expected to be built by TMSC or powered by the new A8 64-bit processor with 2 GB of RAM. The upgraded Apple processor is reportedly power efficient, allowing the iPad Air 2 to last longer on a single charge. The new tablet is expected to have 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants.

The new iPad Air 2 is speculated to be slimmer than its predecessor which was 7.5 mm thick. According to rumors, the iPad Air 2 is 0.5 thinner than the original iPad Air and will be available in black, silver and gold color options. Other reports say the mute or vibration button was removed and the device was fitted with recessed volume controllers. The mic has been moved to the camera's right side as well and another mic was put on the device's left side.

The original iPad Air featured a 5 megapixel primary camera while the new iPad Air 2 is said to sport an 8 megapixel rear camera. The front camera will support 720p video calling and have the Touch ID fingerprint sensor technology under the Home button. According to reports, the iPad Air 2 will also come with the Apple Pay mobile payment system just like the Apple Watch, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
