London Mayor Boris Johnson said he is certain that Ebola will hit Britain soon, and warned people against being infected with the deadly virus.

Although there are numerous airport screenings, they are far from perfect since blood tests are not introduced on the spot, Johnson said. This opens the possibility that citizens coming from Ebola-hit countries could infect others with the virus, according to The Telegraph.

Airport screenings do not guarantee the prevention of Ebola's spreada, the London mayor added.

Johnson's warning came after the government's Chief Medical Officer Dame Sally Davies announced that Ebola cases will be hitting Britain any time soon. They are expecting a handful of cases over the next months, said Davies.

The UK government already began screening passengers from Heathrow, Gatwick and the Eurostar terminal as part of their initial steps to prevent Ebola's spread, the report said.

Health officials will also take passengers in for questioning to determine if they have been exposed to the virus.

In addition, paramedics organized some drills on Saturday in different main locations across the United Kingdoms to practice what they would do if ever a patient will be hit with the virus, according to the report.

Members of the paramedics wore protective suits and supposed victims were transferred to contained units in the hospitals dedicated to patients with Ebola.

The UK will also screen people using blood tests and track those that a patient possibly had contact with, the Telegraph added.

Aside from preparing for any outbreak, the UK also sent a medical ship by Royal Feel Auxiliary Argus that is equipped with supplies to be delivered to Sierra Leone.

The British government will send another 750 Ministry of Defense personnel to the most-affected areas to aid them in dealing with the Ebola crisis.
