Actress Kristen Stewart Says 'Terrorists are only Human... Soldiers are Stupid, Socially Inadequate'

American actress Kristen Stewart, best known for playing Bella Swan in the Twilight saga, is taking flak on social media, after implying in a recent interview that terrorists are only human, and that soldiers are simpletons and stupid people who have no social skills at all.

And it didn't help that it was the leftist website The Daily Beast that interviewed her, specifically columnist Marlon Stern, who chose the interesting - and seemingly leading - questions about Stewart's newest movie, Camp X-Ray, which tells a bit about life inside Guantanamo Bay U.S. Naval Base, where scores of terrorists are currently detained.

In the film, Stewart plays an MP who forges a friendship with a detainee after 9/11.

The film's director, Peter Sattler, says he wanted the film to be apolitical in nature, but it appears Stewart might have actually been politicized by it, as is shown in her comments when she was interviewed.

Her answers are now generating controversy because she actually trashed the U.S. military while saying that terrorists are simply "misunderstood."

The Daily Beast's Stern asked Stewart about her character's relationship with the detainee, named Ali in the film, stating that "it reminds us of the humanity of these people," and that they are human beings, too.

Stewart responds by saying, "As Americans, we should absolutely aspire to more than that."

"If you label something 'bad,' people will justify the most terrible things."

Stern then turns to the patriotism that swept America after 9/11, and asks Stewart about her character getting swept up in it and signing up for Gitmo. That's when she starts trashing the military, as she described her character.

"She's simple, not very smart, and really socially inadequate - but a good person. So, if you can sign up, put a uniform on, and erase yourself, you don't have to consider yourself anymore. You can take the individual out of it and say, 'Well, this dignifies me. I'm good at this...' All she (the character) wants to think is, 'They did 9/11, they're bad, f*ck that, I'm going to do my job and I'm going to do it well.' But then she gets down there and just can't accept it; she can't conform to that."

Then Marlon Stern continues to humanize terrorists as being people, to which Stewart then goes off to criticize people who dare judge the terrorists detained at Gitmo.

"That is essentially so f*cking evil, it's crazy. It's a ridiculous idea for you to think that you know anything for sure in life - other than to take care of your fellow people." She goes on to imply that everyone is capable of doing heinous acts against other people, just like the terrorists are.

Reacting to Stewart's comments, a top online commenter said, "...pretty white American girl...even the script brain washed her...easy prey, weak American link...sharia slave trade. Can we trade her for some humanitarians currently in captivity?"

Another commenter said, "She is a horrible actress that made some movies that were iconic to juvenile girls. What else has this person done? Does she really think that because she put on a uniform for a part in a movie that she understands military personnel? That is like me assuming that since I put on a surgical mask that I am a brain surgeon. Silly girl with a silly opinion."
