Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Mark Hunt is poised for a title shot in the heavyweight division, with only one win left standing in the way for him to get his championship fight.

"The Super Samoan" does not have an impressive record. He currently holds one with 10 wins and eight losses, an unnatural record for any fighter ranked in the top 10 of any division in the UFC.

However, Hunt has been impressive as of late. Out of his previous seven fights, he has finished four of those fights by knockout, held a draw in one fight that has the potential to be fight of the night, but got knocked out by Junior Dos Santos in an entertaining bout.

His last fight was against Roy "Big Country" Nelson, a fellow heavyweight who is known for his accuracy and knockout prowess.

Nelson has never been knocked out in the octagon. However, Hunt was quick to change all that, catching him with an uppercut that sent him crashing to the canvas.

In a recent interview, Hunt exclaims that he feels better than ever.

Hunt originally made a name for himself in the K-1 kickboxing organization, where he reigned as champion.

Now though, he exclaims that he is dedicating far more time to the sport, his training, and his preparation than he was back in the day.

"I was the only guy from outside Europe to have won a KI," he said, "and now I'm going to be the first guy from this part of the world to win a UFC title."

Current UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is on a collision course with number one contender, Fabricio Werdum.

Hunt on the other hand needs only one win, and could have a rematch with Dos Santos, or against up-and-comer Travis Browne.
