Controversial pop singer Chris Brown has a theory on the current Ebola outbreak - and it surely had a lot of people fuming.

Brown tweeted, "I don't know ... But I think this Ebola epidemic is a form of population control.  S*** is getting crazy bruh."

The singer, however, immediately took back what he posted and wrote, "Let me shut my black ass up!"

Last June, Brown was released from prison after he was convicted for attacking his former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

He was sentenced to 131 days in jail, but only served 108 days.

According to an insider, Rihanna couldn't help but laugh at her former love after she saw the comments that followed his tweet.

"RiRi was laughing so hard that we were laughing at her, she basically thinks that he is an idiot. Of course Rihanna takes the Ebola epidemic very seriously and is looking for ways she can help. That was an ignorant statement from someone who has so much followers on Twitter," the source shared.

Jane Moyo, a spokeswoman for British charity Action Aid, referred to Brown as "thoughtless" and stated that he should make a large donation in the fight against Ebola to make amends.

Moyo stated that Brown should have stopped and thought about the repercussions of his tweet before he even wrote it. She shared that Ebola has nothing to do with controlling the population, but rather it is a global emergency wherein the health systems of at least three countries are under immense strain and pressure.

According to Red Cross spokesperson Henry Makiwa, Brown's statement was dangerous and could have put people's lives at risk. "Now is a critical time to scale up the response to the crisis and such comments are an unhelpful distraction from life-saving work," he commented.

The current outbreak of Ebola has been called the worst seen since the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s.
