There's nothing like the freedom of being able to walk around naked in your own home. Just ask Selena Gomez.

The singer-actress recently purchased her own bachelorette pad and moved out of her parents' home to live with one of her best friends. She shared with talk show host Ellen Degeneres that it wasn't exactly cooking her own meals or decorating that got her looking forward to living independently - it was the fact that she could walk around naked.

"Honestly, I enjoy not being able to check-in all the time becacuse my mom is the sweetest ever, so even now she checks in on me because she's like, 'I see online you are here. Are you OK?' 'I'm fine mom, I promise.' I think that's the best thing to just go into my own space and it just be mine," she shared with Degeneres.

However, Gomez did admit that another one of her best friends, singer Taylor Swift, is trying her best to persuade her to move to New York City so they could live together.

Gomez shared that Swift feels like the city has allowed her to mature and feels that it would also be good for Gomez as well. The two have been best friends for seven years.

The young star has gone through a lot during the past year, including an on-again off-again relationship with beau pop brat Justin Bieber and, spending two weeks at a rehab facility earlier this year.

On a scale from one to ten, Gomez admits that she is at a seven when it comes to feeling that she's on steady footing.

The star shared that she has been trying to figure out who she is and, that she is grateful for all the support she has gotten from the people who love her. She does admit however, "I don't want to let anyone down so I try to be the best I can be. It's awkward being 20, in our 20s.
