Days before her 114th birthday, a Minnesota woman faked her age to be able to sign-up for a Facebook account, CNN reported.

Anna Stoehr, who is reported to be the oldest resident of Minnesota, sought the help of a friend to create her own Facebook account this month.

However, the earliest birth year provided in the social media's sign-up page was 1905, so Stoehr was forced to claim that she was a 99-year-old woman, according to CNN's affiliate, KARE-TV.

Stoehr lives in a retirement house and was just introduced to the perks of modern technology after befriending a Verizon salesman.

The salesman, Joseph Ramireza, was selling an iPhone to Stoehr's son, 85, when he started to talk about his mother.

"I just had to meet her," Ramireza said, adding that the old woman became a "kindred spirit".

Since the two met, Ramizera has helped Stoehr use an iPad, as well as taught her how to use FaceTime, Google search, and how to send emails.

While Ramireza was teaching her how to create a Facebook account, they found that Stoehr's birth year was not included in the options. This impediment led the two to write a letter to Facebook's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, using a typewriter.

Stoehr wrote in the letter, "I'm still here."

CNN tried to get a comment from Facebook on Tuesday, but the social media giant has yet to respond.

Meanwhile, despite the limited options in Facebooks sign-up page, the company was known to have previously celebrated its oldest user.

In 2012, Florence Deltor, 101, was believed to be the oldest user of Facebook during that time. As a reward for being a Facebook user, she was given a tour in the company's headquarters and was able to meet Zuckerberg and the company's COO, Sheryl Sandberg.
