In the third and deciding set, Allertova broke Lepchenko late to win the match 4-6 6-3 7-5 in two hours and 23 minutes.

Allertova had advanced to her very first WTA Tour semifinals.

"I started nervously," Allertova said. "But I kept fighting, tried to stay focused and started moving better."

The 21-year-old Allertova defeated third seeded Sabine Lisicki in the second round. She will now face Annika Beck of Germany who defeated Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner in two straight sets 6-2 6-2.

Mayr-Achleitner upset top seeded Andrea Petkovic in the opening rounds.

Zahlavova-Strycova was more fortunate as she easily won her quarterfinals match against Swedish qualifier Johanna Larsson as she surrendered only four points 6-0 6-2.

"I played very good tennis, very solid," Zahlavova-Strycova said. "I didn't make many mistakes. I was very focused on my game. I felt very good on the court."

The fourth seeded Czech is the only seeded player remaining in the tournament and will now face Mona Barthel of Germany.

Zahlavova-Strycova recalls of her last encounter against Barthel where she 7-5 6-0.

"It was a pretty good match," Zahlavova-Strycova said. "I was down 5-2 in the first set. She's a very powerful player. I will have to play smart."

Barthel, 24, also had an easy matchup against Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands as she dished out seven service aces and broke Bertens six of seven attempts to win 6-3 6-0 in a match that lasted an hour and 16 minutes.

Bertens upset second seeded Alize Cornet of France in the second round.
