Chris Weidman, Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) current middleweight champion, found himself in a battle against the clock as he rushed to save the life of his elderly neighbor.

One Thursday afternoon, Weidman was on the way to pick up fellow fighter, Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. However, his flight was delayed and Weidman decided to use his free time to clean out his car, the sky sputtering drops of rain all the while.

As he was doing that, he heard a scream nearby. With the rain masking the sound, he was unable to verify where it was really coming from. He tried to look around but decided against it, as it would seem strange and perverted.

He finishes cleaning the car and, before heading to the airport, he decides to drive near where the noise was coming from. He assumed he would see children playing or a couple fighting.

Instead he found an elderly woman whose body was covered in blood. She had fell on a glass table and got cut all over. The reason she was bleeding so much was that she was on medication that thinned out the blood,

Weidman immediately sat her down in her garage, tried to calm her down, while simultaneously calling 911.

After two calls though, Weidman kept getting transferred to half a minute of silence. With no luck from 911, he called his friend - a police office - and got his help. In minutes, help had arrived for the elderly woman.

Afterwards, Weidman helped clean out most of the blood so the daughter wouldn't come home to "a crime scene."

"I was just lucky to be there - that's it," Weidman said.

While Weidman feels that he was just there at a lucky time, he can add this accomplishment right next to beating previously undefeated Anderson "The Spider" Silva twice in a row.

For his next fight in the octagon, Weidman faces Vitor Belfort some time in 2015.
