iPad Air 2 Price, Pre-order, Release Date and Deals

(Photo : ipad-air-2) Apple has announced the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 at their event in Cupertino.

Google launched the Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Android 5.0 Lollipop and Nexus Player before Apple announced the iPad Air 2.

While the Apple launch wasn't as big as the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch launch, it was still an important tablet launch of 2014.

The 9.7-inch iPad Air 2 will replace the original iPad Air. The new flagship model isn't a huge change from the impressive 2013 slate, but its features are still impressive.

The iPad Air 2 features the TouchID fingerprint technology in the home button; an improved display with anti-reflective technology; a brand new A8 64-bit processor and a better rear camera.

Apple also didn't change the iPad design much with the new model. Instead the iPad Air 2 was made thinner at 6.1 mm, or 18 percent thinner than the iPad Air.

The iPad Air 2 release date is confirmed and pre-orders are expected to be open right after. Apple's retail page has a warning that says supplies could be limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The first countries to receive the iPad Air 2 are the United States, Austria, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, China (WiFi models), Finland, Denmark, Germany, France, Iceland, Hong Kong, Italy, Ireland, Liechtenstein, japan, Macau (WiFi only), Luxembourg, New Zealand, Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Slovakia, Singapore, Sweden, Spain, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

The iPad Air 2 will soon be available in Greece, Croatia, Russia, Puerto Rico, United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
