We're slowly closing in on Halloween and many Grand Theft Auto V enthusiasts are left wondering if the highly anticipated Halloween DLC will be coming to online gameplay; and if it is indeed coming, what will it consist of?

Rockstar seems to like releasing holiday-related DLC updates. They released one for Christmas, and also released one for July 4 with the Independence Day update.

Now that many YouTubers and media sites are speculating on some interesting Halloween DLC ideas, let's take a look at some of these speculations and whether or not they're plausible to be implemented into the game.

DLCs typically consist of new game-modes, weapons, vehicles and clothing. Zombies are definitely one of the most speculated game-mode additions to be implemented in a Halloween DLC.

Rockstar adding zombies as a survival mode would certainly be plausible. They essentially already have it programmed in GTA V. All they'd need to change is instead of guys charging you with weapons, simply change it to blood-thirsty zombies rushing towards you with their hands.

There can be a myriad of possibilities when it comes to weapons, but majority of speculation on weapons seems to be the most violent and as gory as possible, for example, the chainsaw.

The Halloween-favorite chainsaw may be a necessity when used as a killing tool, but is it plausible to be implemented in GTA V gameplay?  Rockstar actually had the chainsaw in GTA back in the Playstation 2 days, but would be much more difficult to add on GTA V.

The reason for this is due to the drastic graphic differences. Graphics on the Playstation 2 weren't very good compared to new-gen consoles, to say the least.

Users were able to swing the chainsaw at someone knocking them down with the most basic blood splatter effects on the PS2 and have it look similar to the rest of gameplay. To add detail of chainsaw physics to the level needed for new-gen consoles would certainly take some time.

So unless Rockstar have been previously working on this, chances are the chainsaw will not be coming as part of DLC.

Finally, the most obvious addition that most gamers are speculating is Halloween costumes. Rockstar typically release new clothing options with every DLC, so costumes are most likely priority number one if they're planning on releasing a Halloween DLC.

Which costumes will be added is practically impossible to speculate, as Rockstar has an endless amount of possibilities. They could easily implement spooky costumes and masks, sexy costumes for the ladies, or even random costumes like the astronaut walking around the Hollywood movie-set area.

Everything is speculation at this point, but if Rockstar would like to amp up gameplay and attract more online gamers, releasing a Halloween DLC would be the way to go. Considering Rockstar typically release DLCs on a Tuesday, fans can set their sights for an Oct. 28 release date.
