June Shannon of Honey Boo Boo's Mama June fame may put her TV show in jeopardy because she was allegedly dating a convicted rapist.

TMZ reports that the reality TV matriarch has been dating Mark Anthony McDaniel, 53, who just had his prison stint earlier this year after serving almost ten years behind bars for aggravated child molestation. And the molestation case actually involved one of Shannon's relatives!

But Shannon's second-youngest daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, came to the couple's rescue and in an interview with Radar Online said that the rumors regarding her mother's relationship were totally untrue and that they Shannon and McDaniel haven't seen each other for 10 years.

Georgia's sex-offender registry revealed that McDaniel was convicted in May 2004 and released in March 2014. TMZ reports that according to prosecutors, McDaniel had forced an 8-year-old child to have oral sex with him.

If the two are really dating, Shannon does not project a good image as a matriarch starring in a family show where young girls are involved, LA Times reports.

TMZ posted pictures of Shannon, 35, and McDaniel, dropping hints that the two have actually been seeing each other for a few months. The picture was said to have been shot a few weeks ago when they were hanging out with friends.

Meanwhile, Pumpkin revealed that the picture was just Photoshopped.

Shannon separated with her husband Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson this September. Last June, it was reported that Shannon broke up with him over suspicions that he had been cheating on her.

"We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series," a TLC spokesperson said in a statement obtained by People.

As of press time, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is not yet in production.
