KISS member Gene Simmons gave an advice to women as he made an appearance on FOX News last Friday to promote his book, "Me, Inc.: Build an Army of One, Unleash Your Inner Rock God, Win in Life and Business".

In his interview with FOX News' Andrea Tantaros, Simmons said women should stop depending on men and should make as much money as they can to support themselves while young, proceeding from the assumption that they were 'abandoned' by their men.

"Women: Stop depending on men. It's as simple as that. Imagine there are no men in life. Find out that thing that you're good for that makes the money and then get married and or have children from a position of strength," the veteran rock star said.

Simmons married former Playboy Playmate and model Shannon Tweed in 2011 after being together for 28 years in a union that produced two kids.

Tantaros pursued questions about Simmons and his relationship with women, saying that he has been extremely blessed to have found someone as loyal and devoted as Tweed. The FOX host said she had gotten a bit confused over Simmons' statement that women should be selfish and pursue their greater good before marriage, while at the same time saying that he regrets having been selfish when he was younger.

The iconic musician replied that he indeed regrets not having married Tweed when they were younger. He said he considers that choice as an immense failure on his part.

"Why I didn't marry Shannon when I first met her and dropped head over heels with her is the stupidity and arrogance and selfishness of man," he added.

Before entering into a relationship with Tweed, Simmons had live-in relationships with Cher and Diana Ross.
