Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president for iPod, iPhone and iOS product marketing, said Apple will offer consumers a number of choices for its first wearable device. Among these choices are several different watch sizes and different watch bands.

People have also been asking which specific demographic the Apple Watch is aimed at, but Joswiak said other devices in the market have faced similar queries when they were first released.

"People asked us the same thing about iPhone," Joswiak said Tuesday. "I think (Apple Watch) is going to be something that's one of these really huge devices."

The company was busy the last couple of months launching the bigger-screen iPhone 6 and its even bigger brother, the iPhone 6 Plus. It also showcased its first wearable device, the Apple Watch, in September.

The Cupertino-based firm also unveiled its newest iPads--the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2--as well as new Macs during a low-key event in the middle of October. Apple also launched Apple Pay, a mobile payments system, in the same month.

While Apple receives some two-thirds of its revenue from iPad and iPhone models, the smartphone and tablet market is increasingly becoming saturated, according to CNET's Shara Tibken. Competitors such as Amazon, Microsoft, Sony, Samsung and Google are duking it out for consumers and the riches they spend on smart mobile devices.

Apple's latest iPhones, on the other hand, have had a record-breaking number of buyers since they were launched in September. The launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has the potential to be the largest product launch in the 38 years Apple has been in business.
