Prince Stuns on 'Saturday Night Live' With Returning Host Chris Rock

An eight-minute performance by Prince on Saturday Night Live, which included four new songs, surely didn't disappoint!

It has been one of the most anticipated Saturday Night Live performances in years, and social media was soon awash with posts using the hashtag #PrinceOnSNL, describing it as one of the best moments in the show's history.

Wearing sunglasses with three lenses, Prince and his 3rdEyeGirl band unleashed slow funky frequencies from his upcoming dreamy new single "Clouds".

Songstress Lianna La Havas was on hand to help with many of the vocals before the band eventually ramped up the beat, with Prince switching to guitar for their live rendition of "PlectrumElectrum", a cut from the album of the same name.

The remaining jam minutes rocked with the upbeat tune of "Marz", also from the "PlectrumElectrum" album, on to an emotional finale with "Another Love".

Thunderous applause. Then he was gone.

Chris Rock's return to the show made for just about the needed dose of laughs as he launched comedic sketches and monologued on the frightful things that pain people today.

He role-played as a member of the dreaded terror group ISIS and made a jab at 9/11 and terrorism; said he would never enter the Freedom Tower that replaced the collapsed Twin Towers.

He took a shot at the "absurdity of running a marathon", in reference to the Boston Marathon bombing.

The show also poked fun at Governor Chris Christie, played by Bobby Moynihan, and his Ebola quarantine issue with Maine nurse Kaci Hickox, portrayed by Kate McKinnon in the show.

It was Chris Rock's first hosting of Saturday Night Live since 1996.
