The Disney Animation Studio, in collaboration with Marvel, has created a film with a whole new animated superhero world called "Big Hero 6" to be released in theaters Friday, Nov. 7.

The new Disney adaption based on the Marvel's "Big Hero 6" comics will be much more than the typical superhero aiming to save the day storyline. According to reports, the film will tackle social issues, such as diversity, while also obliterating racial and gender stereotypes.

The film is about a young biracial (Japanese and white) robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada who develops a special bond with Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot that was created by Hiro's equally intelligent brother who passed away.

Hiro's intelligence and ingenuity then turns Baymax and his group of friends into a high-tech group of superheroes in the town of San Fransokyo, a futuristic mash-up of Tokyo and San Francisco.

"Big Hero 6" aims to stray away from racial stereotypes by depicting a world where the brightest kids in school are people of color, and break gender stereotypes with bold and brainy girls taking the spotlight.

"One of the things that I am proud of is the fact that we do have this very diverse cast. In one sense, we don't make a big deal out of it. The characters are certainly not defined in any way by their race or gender and I'm very proud of that," Williams told BuzzFeed News.

"Big Hero 6" opens in theaters this Friday, and according to tracking systems including Boxoffice.com, the new Disney animated family film is estimated to make over $50 million in box office sales during its opening weekend.
