Ellie Goulding's Native American Halloween Costume Receives Backlash

Ellie Goulding recently posted a photo of her dressed up as a Native American during a Halloween party probably expecting her fans to bombard her photo with positive comments, but, instead the singer was deemed "racist" within minutes after she posted the instagram snapshot.

The 27-year old was also tagged as ignorant, insensitive and deeply offensive, she was also scolded with one critic saying that her costume is no different than wearing black face for Halloween.

Miss Goulding is not the first person to share a snapshot of herself wearing the said outfit, Singers Sinitta, Colleen Rooney, Cher, Harry Styles and Pharell Williams have also recently sported the controversial headpiece.

But not everyone is against the singer, Philip Davies a conservative MP called on the singer to stick to her guns, he also said that the people who are complaining about the photo are idiots he was quoted saying "It never ceases to amaze me that some people easily take offense and usually these people are white, middle-class, guardian reading, sandal wearing and political do-gooders who are taking offense in behalf of someone else."

Goulding has declined to comment yesterday, but responded to her critics via twitter by tweeting "I wore that beautiful unauthentic headpiece for about five minutes."

The singer also pledged to donate to the "Running strong campaign" the said campaign gives grants to organizations that support young Native Americans.

The Native American Headpiece has been subject to a lot of controversy that the Organizers of the Glastonbury festival recently announced that will no longer allow the headpieces to be sold at festival outlets.
