Amber Vinson, one of the nurses at Texas Presbyterian who treated Thomas Eric Duncan, is now out of the hospital after being declared free of the Ebola virus. She credits faith for her recovery, saying, "With God, all things are possible."

The 29-year-old nurse held a press conference at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta before saying goodbye to the medical staff that cared for her since she was brought in last October 14.

Vinson defended her decision to fly to Cleveland after caring for Duncan, possibly endangering her fellow passengers on the flight and her relatives and friends in Ohio. She said she had not been barred from flying then, and felt normal during the trip.

Vinson also said she had received little training in handling patients with Ebola, and had no experience with protective gear that should be used for such cases before treating Duncan, who later died.

"We did not get much training," she told NBC's "Today" program. "The first time that I put on the protective equipment, I was heading in to take care of the patient."

Vinson and colleague Nina Pham, 26, became the first two people to contract Ebola in the United States. Both nurses have recovered, although Vinson's case sparked alarm because she travelled on a commercial flight to Ohio. When she returned to Texas, she had a slight fever, causing health officials to scramble and track down those who had been in contact with her.

"I was never told that I couldn't travel," Vinson told NBC, speaking from Dallas.

She said she had no direct way to contact the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to seek advice before travelling, but twice spoke with her supervisors and was told that the CDC said it was OK to go.

"I would not endanger families across the nation, potentially exposing them to anything. I had no symptoms," Vinson told CNN in another interview.

Passengers on Vinson's flights between Texas and Ohio who were being monitored in Texas were also recently cleared, CDC officials said Thursday.
