After narrowly winning a decision 12-round bout against Argentine boxer Marcos Maidana over the weekend to keep his spotless 46-0 record, Floyd Mayweather Jr. publicly announced the amount that will be added to his riches through his Twitter account.

In his tweet, Mayweather proudly bragged that he will earn a total of $70 million for working "36 minutes" on top of the ring.

Mayweather summed up the amount after his $32 million guaranteed fee plus the calculated revenues from the pay-per-view earnings.

Sports analysts say Mayweather's claims could be a little incorrect since all boxers have to undergo rigorous training months before a fight. However, boxers in his caliber normally have less than two matches per year, which is why he could earn more money in just a little time.

The recent monetary claim that Mayweather posted is the latest in the long string of jaw-dropping numbers from boxing's highest paid fighter.

Though his guaranteed earnings during the Maidana fight last May 3 was nowhere near his biggest paycheck, which is $41.5 million during his bout with Saul Alvarez last year, his deal with Showtime promotion gave Mayweather more control over the management and advertising of all his events since 2013.

According to reports from Forbes, the deal that he forged with Showtime has an estimate amount of $200 million for his next six fights, making it easy for him to let go of his earlier agreement with HBO.

On the other hand, the Argentine boxer will get a relatively large paycheck worth $1.5 million for the fight. Maidana will also get a decent percentage off the earnings from the pay-per-view.

The eye-popping earnings that Mayweather received from all his fights earned him the elite status of being among the highest-earning sportsmen in the world.
