Boko Haram Kills 150 in Another Attack in Nigeria

The attack occurred in the northeastern town of Gamburo, near the border with Cameroon, CNN reported on Wednesday.

Boko Haram has not officially claimed the attack but authorities said the way how the attack was carried out and with the perpetrators wearing military uniform armed with high-powered firearms, there was no doubt that the deadly attack was staged by the notorious terror group.

Boko Haram has killed at least 1,500 people in Nigeria in the first three months of this year, authorities said. Its latest crime is the abduction of 276 school children.

The attack was reported a day after the Nigerian government has offered a reward of about US $310,000 for the information that would lead to the safe rescue of the abducted school girls. The girls were forcibly taken from their school dormitory last month.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday for his eight-day, four-country African trip. The premier, however, has not issued any statement regarding China's possible aid in rescuing the abducted school girls.

The United States, however, announced that it will send military personnel to Nigeria to assist in the rescue of the abducted girls, amidst mounting protests in the African country on the alleged failure of the government to launch an offensive.

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has been placed under fire for allegedly keeping the kidnapping incidents in his country for three weeks. His administration, however, said the government has made successes in its fight against Boko Haram but the Nigerian Information Minister said fighting the terror group is not an easy task.
