In a promotional video for his greatest hits compilation, Eminem rapped about wanting to assault pop singer Lana Del Rey, punching her in the face like Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice did to his then-fiance.

Last February, Rice was caught on video punching his partner inside an elevator until she went unconscious.

In the said video clip, Eminem rapped freestyle, stating, "I'll punch Lana Del Rey right in the face twice. Like Ray Rice in broad daylight in the plain sight of the elevator surveillance. 'Til her head is banging on the railing, then celebrate with the Ravens."

This is not the first time the rapper has made a woman the target of his lyrics. In the past, he has also written and rapped misogynistic lyrics about pop diva Christina Aguilera. In his hit, "The Real Slim Shady", the performer rapped in a verse, "Christina Aguilera, better switch me chairs, so I can sit next to Carson Daly and Fred Durst, and hear 'em argue over who she gave head to first."

Also, he previously wrote and rapped derogatorily about celebrities Kim Kardashian, Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan.

So far, Del Rey has yet to release a comment about the lyrics, but many have taken to social media to criticize the award-winning rapper.

Rapper Azealia Banks showed her support for Del Rey, tweeting, "@LanaDelRey tell him to go back to his trailer park and eat his microwave hotpocket dinner and suck on his sisters tiddies [sic]."

Aside from Banks, other users have also condemned the rapper's lyrics as "dangerous," and "attention seeking," while others were simply not surprised that he would rap about domestic violence given his history of misogynistic lyrics.

Others, however, see his said freestyling as his successful return to the industry, with Australian artist 360 tweeting, "What the f***k - the god himself. @Eminem The best I seen EM in years, this is crazy. http://youtu.be/axlsvegJ0bk".
