Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant adds another record to his collection as he breaks the all-time National Basketball Association (NBA) record for most missed field goals.

Along with a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies (107-102), he also comes away from last Tuesday Night's contest with a distinction that fits the 1-6 record that the Lakers have built at the start of this new season.

At the end of the game with the Grizzlies, Bryant had 28 points from 26 attempts from the field. 16 of these attempts were misses, with one in the fourth quarter that earned him the ill-renowned record.

While Bryant has scored nearly 32,000 points in his career, the points come at a cost as Bryant also passes John Havlicek's record for missed shots.

Havlicek was a sixth-man pioneer, who won eight titles with the Boston Celtics. The eight titles also netter him 13,417 missed field-goal attempts from 1962 to 1978.

Bryant on the other hand has missed 13,418.

Since he was drafted in 1996, Bryant has taken a lot of shots. However, his talent has also been given the burden of scoring, as evidence by the 37 shots he took in a 112-106 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

"I was just being aggressive," Bryant told reporters after the game. "I played with a lot of energy today. It's easy to look at it and say 37 shots, but you don't see how hard I was working to get easy opportunities, offensive rebounds and transition shots.

In order to put it in context, only 87 players in NBA history have taken more shots than Kobe has missed.

ESPN Stats and Information also states that Kobe Bryant also passed Michael Jordan and moved into third place on the NBA's all-time list for most career field goal attempts.
