X-Men's 'Wolverine' Undergoes Surgery to Remove Cancer Cells

Hugh Jackman, who again plays Wolverine in the latest X-Men film "Days of Future Past", underwent another operation to remove a skin cancer on his nose, the second time that he went under the knife due to cancer scare.

Jackman posted an Instagram photo of him wearing a bandage on his nose right after the surgery and urged his fans to wear sunscreen all the time to avoid developing skin cancer.

The Wolverine was treated for basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer that is not fatal but if not immediately removed could damage tissues surrounding it.

According to WebMD.com, an online medical website, basal cell carcinoma accounts for more than 90 percent of skin cancer patients in the United States.

"Please! Wear sunscreen!" Jackman posted on this Instagram account.

It was the second time in six months that the Wolverine actor underwent operation to remove cancer cells on his skin. The first time he underwent operation was in November 2013.

Aside from the double cancer scare, Jackman is very healthy and will be busy promoting the new X-Men movie, which will come out on 23 May.

Jackman thanked his doctor for the successful operation and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who encouraged him to have the spot on his nose checked.

Still fresh from the surgery, the multitalented Australian actor guested in "Good Morning America" with co X-men stars James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page and producer Lauren Shuler Donner. Jackman thanked Donner for ensuring that he got the role of Wolverine in the first X-Men movie, which was filmed 14 years ago.

Jackman is also preparing to host the Tony Awards for the third time and is schedule to get back on Broadway once again with a new play.
