Following a summer of heartbreak, legal battles and debauchery, pop brat Justin Bieber is said to be attempting to return to being a good Christian boy by isolating himself from the Hollywood lifestyle he has gotten used to.

According to gossip site TMZ, Bieber is on a "self-proclaimed mission to learn how to spread the word of God".

The 20-year old singer was seen at Rancho Mirage just outside Palm Springs, California, over the weekend in order to reconnect with Jesus Christ through the help of his spiritual advisor, Hillsong pastor, Carl Lentz. Lentz, who baptized the star in a bathtub last June, has been a friend of Bieber's for over six years.

Although Lentz has yet to arrive at Rancho Mirage, Bieber is reportedly in the retreat place already to get a head start. He was photographed carrying a copy of "Occupy All Streets", a book written by Lentz which revolves around spreading the word of God and resisting worldly temptations.

Speaking of worldly temptations, Bieber is said to also be distancing himself from "friends, alcohol, weed and everything else that doesn't involve the good Lord".

And Bieber certainly has been involved with a lot of things that "doesn't involve the good Lord".

Bieber is currently facing a potential extradition to Argentina to answer questions regarding an alleged assault which involves his security personnel.

Despite Bieber's fall from grace, Lentz has not given up on him.

Lentz, who accompanied the star with Reverend Jesse Jackson at the recent Knicks opening game, admitted that Bieber certainly has a lot of work ahead of him. Although he is far from perfect, Lentz shared that Bieber is on a journey, and that it won't do him any good if he abandoned him.

Although Bieber's entourage isn't exactly the most moral of individuals, Lentz said that Bieber is basically a good person.

"I think relationships in your life come and go. And I think what defines you is how you gauge who needs to stay and who needs to go. When he's with me, he rolls with me. He's like a member of our team... He fits in like a piece of furniture," Lentz shared.
