The National Football League (NFL) has fined Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch US $100,000 for ignoring reporters. This follows his third violation of the NFL's media policy.

Lynch was fined US $50,000 for ignoring reporters following the Seahawks' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend, according to an anonymous NFL spokesman.

In addition to that, the NFL will also be collecting another US $50,000 fine imposed following violations of the media policy during the 2013 season but not collected in anticipation of future cooperation.

The NFL's media policy says that all players must be available to the media during the practice week at the team facility and in the locker room following all games.

After the game, Lynch was sitting in front of his locker and reporters started crowding around him. He asked them why they were all crowding around like that.

For most of the football questions that the reporters asked, Lynch talked about his shoes and his favourite rap singers instead.

He would not comment on why he stayed on the field during halftime on Sunday at Kansas City when he was being treated by team trainers on the bench.

Tight End Cooper Helfet, who sat next to Lynch's locker chimed in and offered that he thought it was a good idea because he needed treatment on his back and got it.

Lynch was also asked what he thought about Seahawks coach Pete Carroll's comments, who also said that Lynch was being treated on the sideline.

Instead of answering it directly, he directed the question back at the reporters, asking them what they felt about it.

A question about his back lead to an answer about his shoes:

"My cleats, it's a nice feel," Lynch said. "Right here in my inner sole, they put some heaters in here. It's pretty nice. It's a great feeling. And they put this little squiggling line here that's looks like an M and an L for Marshawn Lynch. It's pretty nice. I like to play in these. These are nice cleats."
