Jian Ghomeshi, Canadian Radio Host Facing Sex Charges, Is Granted Bail: Next Appearance is set on January

Jian Ghomeshi's eventual downfall as radio host at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's radio program "Q" sparked the interest of the public as Ghomeshi was granted bail by a court in Toronto. He was terminated by CBC on his alleged violation of law based on a "graphic evidence" that has reached the attention of CBC.

Ghomeshi surrendered to the police, Wednesday morning, and was charged with sexual assault under the Criminal Code, approximately after a month from his dismissal at CBC.

CBC News Canada reported that Marie Henein, Ghomeshi's lawyer told the media that her client is pleading not guilty of the charges hurled against him.  She refrained from issuing further statements and firmly ends reporter's queries on their way out of the court saying that, "We will address their allegations fully and directly in a courtroom. It is not my practice to litigate my cases in the media."

Bail conditions mandated that Ghomeshi must live with her mother in Ontario, who will also act as his surety, must surrender his passport and must stay in Ontario.

Ghomeshi denies all allegations of sexual assaults.  He admitted through his post on facebook that he was into "rough sex" but he claimed that all those contacts with women were not against their will.

On the other hand, Chief Bill Blair of Toronto police refused to comment on the case saying that everything relative to the Ghomeshi case will be handled by the court, although he encourage women, who have been offended by Ghomeshi to report the incident to their office so that appropriate action can be undertaken.  They are assured of fair treatment and will be dealt with, with utmost respect.

Lucy De Coutere, a star in the "Trailer Park Boys" TV series was one of those who bravely voiced out Ghomesi's grave acts. She said that, "I hope that victims' voices continue to be heard and that this is the start of a change that is so desperately needed," CBC News Canada reported.
