Pharrell Williams Believes Bullying Should Also Be Discussed in Ferguson Shooting

In a bold move, singer-songwriter Pharrell Willams shared with Ebony magazine that he feels that 18-year old Ferguson teen Michael Brown's actions were "bullyish".

Brown was caught on camera looting a convenience store before he was shot by Police Officer Darren Wilson last August 9.

Unlike others who believed that Wilson is to blame for the death of the teen, Williams believes that Brown's actions led to his death. The artist did not blame Brown directly, but rather pointed out the fact that society should be talking about why it doesn't have a problem with bullying.

According to Williams, "It looked very bullyish; that in itself I had a problem with. Not with the kid, but with whatever happened in his life for him to arrive at a place where that behavior is OK. Why aren't we talking about that?"

Although Williams many saw Williams' statement as a hit against the deceased teen, he also pointed out that he believes that Wilson should be punished for shooting Brown, and that he should serve time in prison.

Stating that he believes shooting Brown was use of excessive force on a child, Williams stated that Brown was asking for trouble by not listening to the orders of the police.

However, Williams also said that the teen was not asking to be killed. While the teen was obviously disrespectful of authority, Williams said that Wilson did not have the right to shoot him.

"Some of these youth feel hunted and preyed upon, and that's why that officer needs to be punished," he added.

After Williams gave his opinion on the issue, many users took to Twitter to express their anger.

One user tweeted, "Hey white people, y'all want Pharrell Williams?", while another posted, "Just saying. @Pharrell is a coward. Great musician. But a coward. I hope no young black men look up to him. He's a coward."
