Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have finally arrived in New York City Sunday.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were chauffeured in a black Cadillac Escalade to the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan.

They were welcomed by a crowd of media and cheering admirers, eager to catch a glimpse of Britain's second in line to the throne and his pregnant wife.

Police barricades were positioned across Madison Avenue to keep the people behind.

The royal couple, whose eldest child, Prince George, was born July 2013, are expecting their second child due April.

They smiled at their well-wishers as they emerged from their vehicle.

The Carlyle Hotel is a favorite and is close to Prince William's heart.

The prince's mom, Diana, the late princess of Wales, frequented the hotel on her visits to Manhattan in the 1990s.

The Duke and Duchess will have a busy schedule in the Big Apple. They are slated to visit the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum Tuesday and will check out the basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

President Barack Obama will welcome the Duke of Cambridge at the White House Monday, as he heads to Washington for a World Bank conference.

The duke will be holding a talk on the urgency to fight illegal trade in wildlife parks.

Kate, meanwhile, will visit a New York child development center together with New York City first lady, Chirlane McCray.

Meanwhile, Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and her daughter Chelsea will accompany them at a New York reception for conservation efforts.

The duke will also meet New York City Major Bill de Blasio at an event at the Empire State Building on Tuesday.
