The legendary Bob Dylan will be releasing his 36th studio album this February, and the said work will feature his own interpretation of classic songs originally sung by Frank Sinatra.

Not much is yet known about Dylan's album, which is entitled "Shadows in the Night", except that the 73-year old rock icon will be including 10 popular songs from the 1940s that he interpreted with very minimal studio production.

"I've wanted to do something like this for a long time but was never brave enough to approach 30-piece complicated arrangements and refine them down for a five-piece band," Dylan said in a statement released Tuesday.

The singer-songwriter said he and his band didn't use headphones, gadgets or vocal booths while they recorded the songs. He intended the music to be very raw and stripped down.

He revealed that instead of covering the said songs, he wanted to uncover them. Sharing that the songs have been covered enough to the point that they already seem buried, he and his bandmates wanted to bring "them into the light of day".

Another song to be featured in the album is Dylan's recently released interpretation of "Full Moon and Empty Arms," which Sinatra debuted in 1945.

The legendary singer will also feature "Some Enchanted Evening" from the musical "South Pacific", as well as the single "Autumn Leaves".

"Autumn Leaves" was first performed in French as "Les Feuilles Mortes".

The album is set for release on February 2 in Europe, and on February 3 in the United States.

Although Dylan is well into his seventies, he maintains a very active touring schedule, and has also managed to release a box set of his 1967 sessions with his band aptly called The Band.

Dylan's last album entitled "The Tempest" was released in 2012.
