Lou Ferrigno has joined the long list of celebrities who figured in a death hoax after a report surfaced on May 28 saying The Incredible Hulk actor died in a vehicular accident while driving along Santa Barbara and Goleta.

Ferrigno’s supposed death was reported in a fake news website that claims to be affiliated with USA Today.  It said the 62-year old actor died from injuries he sustained in a multi-vehicle accident.

A number of Ferrigno's fans believed the hoax and expressed their sadness on Twitter, but the Hulk was quick to point out that it was all a hoax and that he was very much alive. On his Facebook page, Ferrigno posted a video where he greeted everyone, said he was alive and was on his way to a bank.

Reports say the news on Ferrigno's fake death was deliberately posted by pranksters with the intention of spreading malware on the computers of people who open the news.

Ferrigno starred for five seasons of The Incredible Hulk on CBS from 1977 to 1982.

He joins Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who were also victims of fake death reports that spread online in recent months.

Pawn Star’s Chumlee was also victimized by a convincing death hoax that even fooled his fellow cast member shortly after the report was published online. This was the second time Chumlee was listed in a celebrity death hoax.
