One month after a bizarre footage featuring Marilyn Manson and Lana Del Rey surfaced, where Del Rey is believed to have been in a "suggestive scene depicting sexual assault," Marilyn Manson's rep was quick to issue a statement denying involvement in it.

Just a few months shy from the release of his latest album, The Pale Emperor, Manson revealed the details on the video production via an interview with NME:

"It wasn't a Marilyn Manson video," the singer started.

"The editor of the company that put it out was somebody who's edited my videos, that video was something that was done with a camera that Eli (Roth - director), who's my friend, and I both wanted to test out, so I let him test it out [...] what they filmed was put in context seemingly as if it were a Marilyn Manson video, and that was in no way the intention," he clarified.

NME notes that next to the portrayal of the rape scene, where Del Rey and another male was featured, the video also showed footage of a blood-stained woman dipping her head in water, then a birthday party filled with eccentrics, Manson included.

Manson was interested to work on a video with Del Rey but revealed it has to be called off because she was just difficult to work with.

"Eli and I wanted to do a music video with her but she was being such a problem," the four-time Grammy nominee said.

"I just left, I was tired, I was not willing to make that part of the video," he continued.

However, Uprroxx Music explains that what Manson said was just a "little hard to believe," or it was just "a slick coincidence that he'd leave at exactly the right point to miss out on the controversial portion of the video."

It's also quite not so Manson when the singer said that the video "strongly stands out of place, it doesn't really make sense."

Manson's spokesperson, Kathryn Frazier, had earlier denied Manson's involvement in the video.

"Manson did not direct this, shoot it, nor was it for a Marilyn Manson video or outtake footage made by him or to be used by him with his music", she said, commenting that the video must just be another "fan video splicing up old Manson video footage..."
