Although Hong Kong actress Kate Tsui gives off an air of confidence and ambition, she admitted that she actually didn't know what she wanted to do with her life. She said that the opportunity to become an actress came along, so she just decided to go for it.

Since winning Miss Hong Kong in 2004, the 35-year old performer shared that she just left everything to fate. Aside from pure luck, she credited the TVB staff for helping her along the way.

Tsui is currently nominated for TV Queen for her performance in Tomorrow is Another Day; however, the actress feels that she still has a lot to prove before she can actually say that she is deserving of the title.

Sharing that she voted for Charmaine Sheh to win last year for the title, she added, "We all want to be like Charmaine and get good roles, but that really depends on fate. They say I was a hot favorite to win [Best Actress] two years ago, and that the TV Queen title slipped right past me. That praise is too much! I still have a long way to go."

She admitted, however, that the intense competition in show business does get her down sometimes.

Tsui shared that there was a period this year that she was extremely depressed, and felt utterly lost because she felt that she had lost control of her life. The actress admitted that she didn't know what she wanted, and had a hard time grasping happiness.

However, over the summer, she flew to New York to take a course on acting. After the said course, she said she realized that studying made her happy, and it made her think about going back to school.

She said that she is still searching for what will really make her happy, adding, "Right now, the first thing I need to do is understand what I really want. If that requires me to let go of all that I have now, I will let go with no regrets. I am waiting for a breakthrough, not only a breakthrough in my acting, but also a breakthrough in myself."
