Another attack that is suspected to have been led by the Taliban on a school run by the military has left 141 people dead, 131 of them were children.

The latest Pakistan massacre is dubbed by the officials as the worst attack that has hit the country since the unrest started in the area. It was reportedly carried out by a small number of militants from a Pakistani militant group identified as Tehreek-e-Taliban group which aims to overthrow the government.

The attack did not only kill 141 people but also left scores of people wounded and rushed to hospitals while frantic parents continue to search for their children in hopes of finding them safe.

Aside from the children, nine staff members also died in the attack, according to Pakistani military spokesman Asim Bajwa during a news conference on Tuesday. The attackers wore explosive vests and there were around seven of them who attacked the area, he added.

A local hospital where most of those who were injured were brought said in a statement that the ages of those who died and were being treated are between ten and 20 years old.

According to Bilal Ahmad Faizi, the head of the state-run rescue organization, the operation was completed already and that the school was cleared of any possible militants still in the area.

Reports suggest that the deadly incident began in the morning when the attackers just started shooting randomly. The army quickly arrived at the area and started exchanging fire with the militants and some students were able to flee the area.

In the news coverage, it showed soldiers surrounding the area and ambulances trying to rescue the people. According to one student named Abdulla Jamal, no one knew what was happening for the first minutes of the attack.

"Then I saw children falling down who were crying and screaming. I also fell down," Jamal recounted. "I learned later that I have got a bullet."

Jamal was shot in the leg but is now safe and is recovering at a hospital.

The most recent Pakistan massacre has pushed the Prime Minister of the country to vow that the military will continue to try and eradicate the militants in the area.
