The victims were identified as Martha Gaza, 36, Saeko Matsumura, 87, and Mary Wilson, 81, citizens from Torrance.

According to Monsignor Michael Meyers, they had a whole church full of people and when they were departing and crossed the street, the car just plowed through the pedestrian lane.

The suspect was identified as 56-year-old Margo Bronstein of Redondo Beach and reports say she drove a white Saturn and she was northbound the Pacific Coast Highway through the intersection of Vincent Street. Authorities claimed the driver ran a red light, struck the pedestrians, then slammed head on another car identified as an SUV.

According to a witness named Michael Tovar, the woman did not get out of the car and that she was asked about what she did but she was speechless and blank-eyed.

In the incident, a total of seven adults, the driver, and five children were injured in the said crash. One child and one adult are suffering from head injuries and are still in critical condition as of Thursday morning.

Witnesses pointed out that the suspect might have been under the influence of prescription drugs during the crash and has been arrested for felony vehicular manslaughter. She is held behind bars at a bail amounting to US$300,000  and is scheduled for her first court appearance on Friday this week.

No other information about the victims and their families have been released yet.
