Drunken Woman Run Over by Train Survives Unscathed

An allegedly intoxicated woman has miraculously survived unscathed being run over by a short train after passing out on a railroad in Alabama.

Lynsey Horne, 22, did not even gain consciousness after the short train passed over her small frame at Ross and Gray Streets railroad crossing at 9:00 am. Police said she was uninjured after the incident, according to a WTVM-TV report cited by New York Daily News.

Although Horne survived the train incident without any injuries, she was booked for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

The Salem-based woman had completely avoided getting hurt by somehow fitting her petite figure in between the two rail tracks as two engines and a car passed over her at the said railroad.

Captain Lorenza Dorsey told WTVM-TV that it was really a miracle, and that Horne was lucky it was not a long freight train. In addition, he said the woman's small build and sleeping position helped her avoid getting struck or hit by an object from the passing train.

The AL.com said when someone reported that a person had been hit by a train, police stopped the vehicle. The incident also prompted them to call an ambulance and request for a standby medical helicopter.

The medical team took Horne to the hospital but did not find any signs of injury.

Police said they still have not confirmed how or why the woman had ended up lying on the train tracks. She is not an Auburn University student, according to the newspaper.

In an interview with The Auburn Plainsman, Dorsey said he had never heard of a person run over by a train between the tracks in his 28 years of stay.

One of Horne's friends was interviewed by Mail Online. He told the news firm that he did not know why his friend was wasted at 9:00 am and that it was not her usual behavior.
