During a press conference held recently in Wuxi to promote the film, the 49-year old actor has revealed that he found real challenge in acting as the legendary Monkey King which is the main character in the classical novel 'Journey to the West', the same piece where the film is based.

"It was hard for me," says the actor as he discussed his character to the media. However, despite having a difficult time portraying the character, he stated that he is glad that he was able to integrate his 30 years of dancing experience into his role.

According to Kwok, who was required to transform into the Monkey King every single day while filming, he found wearing the costume particularly difficult. The famous actor related that in order to complete his Monkey King look, the costume and makeup department, despite their joint effort, take around seven hours to finish.

Kwok stated that he would usually be working out after his filming schedules, but after filming for his role in the famed Lunar New Year film, he feels as if he had performed three concerts all in a day.

On the other hand, during the press conference, the actor has been asked to react on the recent rumors which claim that he is currently dating a Japanese exchange student. However, he has declined to comment about the matter.
