It's highly likely you've seen lots of videos of clips on YouTube showcasing gaming sessions of expert (and not-so-expert) gamers around the world.

You probably want to do the same thing and boast of your expertise with the Sony PlayStation 4. If so, you'd want to know how to capture and stream videos on the Sony PS4 gaming console.

Fortunately, Extreme Tech has been generous in sharing tips on how you can do this.

There are basically five things you need to be aware of when recording and streaming videos from your PS4. The first one is being aware of the "Built-in Video Capture" feature.

There's a "Share" button on the unit itself, and tapping on it will bring you to the sharing options screen. Hit "Options" to get the "Share Settings" window.

From this menu, you have the freedom to enter whatever kind of settings you want. Once you've made your preferred changes, just exit.

Whenever you like to save a recorded part of your playtime, select the "Share" button. The "Square" button will get you a copy of the latest footage recorded by the console. If you're ready to choose the clip you'd like to share, hit the "Upload Video Clip" option.

You have the option to upload your videos on your Facebook profile or on your YouTube account. Once you've chosen your preferred social media network to post the video on, wait for several minutes (depending on the length of the video) before it's successfully be displayed.

Kotaku  also has a few recommendations. One of these is to always take into consideration what your goal is.

For example, if you're just aiming for sharing a few moments of a game session, you should get yourself a "buffer recording feature" to avoid having to sift through hours and hours of recorded videos.

On the other hand, if you wish to record the entire gameplay, putting it on continuous record will make things easier for you since you no longer have to keep hitting the record button.
