This is their second career Grand Slam title together, taking the Wimbledon women's doubles crown as well in 2013.

They have also won the World Tennis Association (WTA) Championships also held in 2013.

Peng and Hsieh is seeded number one by the WTA in women's double rankings. This is a first for both girls as 28-year-old Peng is the first Chinese professional tennis player to reach this rank and Hsieh, also 28, is the first player from Taiwan to win any kind of Grand Slam.

Second Seed Errani and Vinci started the first set hot as they put themselves up 3-1. But it's all downstream from there as Peng and Hsieh rallied to take the set 6-4.

The second set was all Peng and Hsieh as they won six games in a row to take the doubles' crown from the Italians at 6-1.

The Italian duo has reached the French Open finals three straight years and has won the 2012 crown. They lost last year's cup to Russian tandem Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.

"Don't be sad... you guys will win much more than us, so let us win this one. It is a dream to win." Peng said to the Italian pair during their awarding presentation.

Peng's achievement in her singles career was when she defeated World No. 1 and five time Grand Slam champion Martina Hingis in 2007 at the China Open and she has also won the 2010 Asian Games

Hsieh is also Taiwan's highest ranking single professional tennis player at 23. She also reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2012 where she lost to then No. 1 seed Maria Sharapova.
