Weibo's latest mobile app includes a social networking platform, an online game center and a World Cup themed game.

According to Technode, the casual World Cup themed game had recorded more than 10 million users within a few days from its launch.

One to two games will be released every month to offer its mobile app users more variety, totaling to at least 10 mobile games expected to be released by the end of this year.

Users can also look forward to seeing games from third party developers as Weibo announced that it plans to offer an open platform for external developers through game distribution services.

Aside from the game, included in the new app is a social platform which allows registered users to comment and review on various mediums such as in food, literature, movies and other areas related to lifestyle, Chinadaily has learned.

Earlier this year, Weibo became listed in the U.S. stock exchange, NASDAQ. It recently collaborated with Alibaba through Alipay and launched Weibo Payment, which is believed to become a part of Weibo's game distribution service.

As the company seeks to increase its revenues and widen its user reach, the company plans to provide high quality entertainment and services that would easily integrate into their clients' mobile lifestyle, Weibo vice manager Zheng Wei said.

China's mobile gaming market has been on the rise in recent months and is expected to increase 59 percent to 23.6 billion yuan, roughly equivalent to $3.8 billion, by the end of 2014.

Additionally, iResearch Inc, an Internet consultancy firm, projects that mobile game players on smart phones will hit the 300 million mark within the year.
