Paul Ryan, Republican Representative of Wisconsin and the vice presidential nominee back in the 2012 elections, announced on Monday that he will not be running in Presidential Race 2016.

In a statement, Ryan said he had decided about the matter weeks ago and that he is at peace with his final decision in forgoing the said position for the White House.

He added that he has been encouraged and supported by a lot of people such as his friends and supporters but he said that he feels he is in already in a position to make a big difference in his present position, saying this is what he wants to do as of the moment.

The Congressman of Wisconsin believes that being a chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee is a great role for him and it is something he wants to fulfill more than running for the presidential post.

Despite his decision, he still said that his stand will be "bittersweet not being on the trail" in reference to not being a contender for the White House.

"It's clear our country needs a change in direction. And our party has a responsibility to offer a real alternative," said Ryan. "So I'm going to do what I can to lay out conservative solutions and to help our nominee lead us to victory."

Ryan has been the running mate of Mitt Romney, the Republican's presidential candidate, during the elections in 2012. Romney has recently announced that he will again run for the said post despite losing against United States President Barack Obama last time.

Romney is not the first Republican to announce his plans on running for President as it is expected that his party will bring in more candidates for the Presidential Race 2016. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is said to be eyeing the post as well as Governors Rick Perry from Texas, Chris Christie of New Jersey and Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Marc Rubio of Florida.
