Actor Tom Hardy who was set to be a part of the movie Suicide Squad recently quits his role from the project. And without thinking twice, the studio Warner Brothers, immediately replaced him with Jake Gyllenhaal, given his performance in Nightcrawler as an exceptional one.

The movie is an all-star comic book to be directed by David Ayer based on DC Entertainment's villains who were forced to become heroes eventually. The cast is composed of high profile names in the industry like Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne.

Hardy's character was supposed to be Rick Flagg, who is the leader of the team that has Batman villains on it like Deadshot (Smith), Joker (Leto), Harley Quinn (Robbie), plus Boomerang (Courtney) and Enchantress (Delevingne).

Hardy quits the job due to conflicts of his schedule. He is currently filming the movie The Revenant and it is a drama to be directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and the filming is taking longer than they expected.

There is a lot happening on Hardy's plate recently so it is understandable why he had to drop some projects along the way and just go with his prior commitments. He is also part of Mad Max: Fury Road under Warner's and it is due to open on May 15 of this year, which is also the filming schedule for Suicide Squad. Hardy already has press commitments worldwide for Fury Road soon as Suicide starts filming on mid-April in Toronto.

Meanwhile, although the studio already has set their eyes on Gyllenhaal to be his replacement, there are no final statements yet if he would actually agree with the project.

Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.
