British Boy Invoiced For Party Fee After Missing Friend's Birthday

A five-year-old boy from Britain was invoiced for a "no show" party fee and his family was threatened with court action after he failed to attend a friend's birthday party.

One of the teachers from the Torpoint Nursery and Infant School in southern England was asked to pass the said invoice that came from the birthday boy's mother, Julie Lawrence, to the young British boy, Alex Nash, just after their Christmas break, according to reports.

The envelope was then given to the boy's dad, Derek Nash, who found out that they were being asked of paying £15.95. Alex reportedly missed the event because he had to spend the day with his grandparents.

The invoice reportedly came from Plymouth Ski Slope, the venue of the slide-and-ride-themed party that included a hot meal, ice cream, three toboggan rides, jelly, and balloons. However, the establishment released a statement saying the dispute was between the parents of the children involved.

Louisa Duggan, the manager for Plymouth Ski Slope, said their company would never issue invoices for people who did not show up for the events taking place at the venue.

Derek, 45,  said that it was a proper invoice as there were official details included such as the bank details of Lawrence. Derek noted that the money or the amount being asked from the is not the issue at all but it was the way Lawrence tried to get money from them.

If and when the Nash family would not pay the bill, Lawrence noted that they will have to settle it in court as it is considered as a minor civil dispute. Lawrence still stands firm with her demands and has not cancelled the invoice.
