Brady and Belichick Both Claim to be in the Dark About Inflate-gate Scandal

The NFL New England Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady both claim to be in the dark about the underinflated balls.

Belichick said in one news conference that only Brady could talk about his preference in footballs.

In a separate news conference, Brady said that the whole scandal was a mystery to him.

A video made several years ago was recently unearthed. It showed Brady joking around and saying that he preferred deflated balls as they were easier to throw, grip, and catch.

He addressed the video in the news conference. He explained that what he really meant was that he liked the ball being inflated to the minimum 12.5 pounds per square inch.

When he spoke of the scandalous happening that took place during their annihilation of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship (45-7), he said that he knew nothing about the 11 underinflated balls the NFL found.

"I have no knowledge of wrongdoing. I have no problem saying that - as far as I know," Brady said.

He insisted that he is no cheater, but was willing to accept if his fans believed that he was one. With the many years that he has played in the league, he has learned to accept criticism as part of being a professional player.

In Belichick's news conference, he simply said that he had no knowledge of what happened, right before cutting the morning news conference off.

NFL investigators are taking the matter seriously, primarily because the Patriots have already been caught cheating before.

The previous act of cheating was in 2007, when they caught the Patriots videoing the practice sessions of the team they were going up against.

Regardless of the investigation, the Patriots will be facing the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl on February 1.
