Microsoft unveiled Nokia X2, the company's first Android Device, last Tuesday. The new device is deemed to cost less than other smartphone brands in the market

Back in February, Nokia announced a new line of smartphones called X, X+ and XL. Shortly after in April, Microsoft made the revelation that they were to take over Nokia's handset division. Similar to the X Class devices the new Nokia X2 will still be heavily dependent on the services of Microsoft.

The new Nokia X software, platform 2.0, caters to advance options seen on the home screen. There are three home screen updates: the first is similar to the Windows Phone, the second gives priority to apps and the last enables pinning of content.

The X2 has improved options for multitasking and notifications. It also relies on Microsoft's services, like the Bing Search app, OneDrive, OneNote, Opera mobile browser, Outlook.com and Skype replacing popular Google services.

The Nokia X2 is dual core with a 4.3 inch display, Gorilla Glass and ClearBlack technology. It runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 200 processor that has 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of memory. Other specs include a 5 megapixel main camera and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetooth plus 2G and 3G cellular data.

Starting July the X2 will be available in Africa, India and Indonesia and is set to sell for only US$135. There is no news if this Android device will be hitting the U.S. shores soon as Microsoft has pushed market sales more for the Lumia Windows Phones.
