Former Fox Producer Commits Suicide At NYC Headquarters

A former employee of Fox television reportedly committed suicide infront of the agency's New York City headquarters on Monday, with police officials are saying he shot himself to death just after he handed out fliers that said Fox has ended his profession.

The man, 41-year-old Philip Perea, reportedly shot himself in his chest at 9:00 in the morning just meters away from Radio City Music Hall where the offices of Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and New York Post are all located. There were no other people reported to be injured in the incident.

According to officials, Perea had a suicide note and the weapon was discovered at the scene. He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Perea was said to be a producer at Local Fox but was removed from his post last June 2014. According to a statement from the CEO of Fox Television Stations, Jack Abernethy, Perea worked at the FOX7-KTBC station for only ten months. He added that he was saddened by the situation but did not comment further.

Perea has set up a YouTube channel and filmed a series that was entitled "The American Workplace Bully." The YouTube videos said he was fired on May 19 of last year for uncertain reasons and featured Fox management's bad decisions.

Perea said in the last video he has uploaded:  "2014 was the worst year of my life. It's time for Fox News to have the worst year of its existence."
