2011 Wimbledon champion and four-time Australian Open titlist Novak played veteran Stepanek numerous times before and have beaten him but never has he used every knowledge and skill that he has learned in his 12 years of professional tennis.

27-year-old Novak seemed undaunted in the first two sets where he snatched both sets in a comfortable 6-4 6-3 score. But when it came to the third set, 35-year-old Stepanek showed him all the tricks in the book and some shots you've only read about.

Stepanek, surprisingly gave Novak a run for his money as he went after every ball that Novak slammed at him. And all his perseverance got a fruitful end as he won the third set 6(5) 7(7).

The fourth set looks similar as Stepanek continues his tireless attacks and baseline plays coming back from 5-2 and ties the set at 6 all.

Djokovic finally pulled himself together at tie break and finishes the fourth set 7(7) 6(5). The match lasted more than three hours.

"It was fun to be a part of on the one side," Djokovic said after the match, "but, on the other side, I should have not complicated my life in the way. I was two sets up and had break point chances and I should have closed it out in the third set tie-break."

Djokovic now heads on to the third round as he plays Frenchman Gilles Simon

Defending Wimbledon champion British Andy Murray also saw action against Slovak Rola whom he clobbered in three straight sets 6-1 6-1 6-0 and also advances to the third round and will play against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.
