Joe Montana Believes Brady is In on Deflate-gate; Not a Bad Thing

The current investigation of the National Football League (NFL) has not produced much results on the deflate-gate scandal yet. However, football great Joe Montana believes Tom Brady is involved.

The NFL's investigations are now focused on the New England Patriots' locker room assistant. Media day scrums with head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Brady had both men saying that they knew absolutely nothing on the matter.

However, Montana isn't so sure about that.

The San Francisco 49ers legend said at the Super Bowl on Thursday that Brady is responsible for playing with underinflated footballs in the AFC Championship game. The game was a blowout victory over the Indianapolis Colts (45-7).

Montana said that if he wants a ball a certain way, he doesn't do it himself. Instead, he has somebody else do it.

He adds though that he doesn't understand why people are trying to figure out who did it. The only important thing is to focus on the only person who cares about what the football feels like; the quarterback.

He emphasizes that even if Brady did not do it, he still likes the balls that way, or 11 of 12 wouldn't be underinflated that way.

While the comment read on paper or online looks like a scathing one, during the interview Montana had none of that. He was very matter-of-fact when he said it.

In fact, he added that NFL's inflation rule should not even exist and also praised Brady, saying that he belongs in the "greatest-to-ever-play" category.

The experience of Montana joining his deflate-gate criticizers must hurt for Brady though, as the former four-time Super Bowl winner is his hero.

Brady even posted a photo on social media this past week showing himself dressed in a Montana uniform when he was a kid.

However, these words could also be motivation for Brady.

With a win over the Seattle Seahawks in the upcoming Super Bowl, Brady could join Montana and Terry Bradshaw of the Pittsburgh Steelers with the most Super Bowl titles.
