United States President Barack Obama met with Jordanian King Abdullah on Tuesday in Washington and said the killing of the Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kaseasbeh by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was barbaric and vicious.

Obama told reporters that what happened to the pilot would only serve to double the anti-ISIS coalition's determination in trying to dismantle the militant group that has been killing military servicemen, journalists and other foreign captives.

According to reports, King Abdullah was in Washington to talk with Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry about the possible safe released of Kaseasbeh. Due to this, Kind Abdullah had to address the killing from Washington as he talked to the Jordanians and vowed to seek revenge against the killers of the pilot.

"This is cowardly terror by a criminal group that has no relation to Islam. The brave pilot gave his life defending his faith, country and nation, and joined other Jordanian martyrs," the Jordanian king said.

The undated video released on Tuesday showed Kaseasbeh locked in a cage then doused with gasoline and burned alive. The authenticity of the video has not yet been confirmed but according to other reports, he might have been killed on January 3 after airstrikes were carried out against the militants.

According to critics, the killing might be a message for Jordan as a retribution for the bombing.

In the wake of the gruesome killing, people in Jordan have been rallying in the streets and calling for revenge.

Meanwhile, reports emerged that the killing of the Jordanian pilot prompted Jordan to execution of the Iraqi woman that the ISIS has been asking to be swapped. Sajida al-Rishawi has been on the death row since 2005 for taking part in a suicide bombing.
