Netflix is currently working on a TV series about "The Legend of Zelda."

The Legend of Zelda is a Nintendo video game that made its debut in the United States in 1987. The game follows a hero named Link in his various adventures. He's a boy with a mission to save Princess Zelda and the world of Hyrule.

A source claimed Netflix plans to present the show in a "Games of Throne" style but with a lighter theme more suited for the family. The video streaming company is currently hiring writers for the upcoming series. 

The Zelda game involves sorcery and sword fights similar to "Lord of the Rings". In contrast, the upcoming Zelda show will be more suited for younger viewers.

The upcoming Legend of Zelda TV series is currently in the early stages of development. Very little details about the show has been released. 

Rumor only say the Zelda show will be live-action. No names about who will assume the various characters in the series have been released. 

Since it's still too early, there's a possibility the proposed TV show might not push through.  Zelda fans, however, are very hopeful the TV show will become a reality.

This won't be the first time the "Legend of Zelda" has been adapted for a TV show.  In 1989, A "Legend of Zelda" animated series was run, but only for one season. The Nintendo Company released at least 20 installments of the Zelda game.  

Neither Nintendo nor Netflix would confirm the rumored "Legend of Zelda" TV series. When Netflix was being asked to comment about it, the spokeswoman declined.  A spokesman for Nintendo would only say the company "doesn't comment on rumors and speculation."
